51 weeks

Hey little peanut- you're almost one! And almost done with these pictures!
Maybe that's why you're smiling so big here!

Little peanut had her first stomach bug, given to her by her sister and then passed along to mom. We were a mess for a few days over here; luckily dad remained healthy. She was a sad little lady, sleeping so much and eating so little. She's already tiny, but she barely had anything by pedialyte in her system for three days- she look even smaller. We're all better though, yeah!

Avery likes to point out everything she likes on our walks to Eliza.
I get the feeling no one is going to mess with Eliza with Avery as a big sister. :)

This girl makes me so happy. I love her little whispies of hair that form around her ears. I love her gibber gabber when she's focused on playing with her toys. I love how she snuggles us when she's tired. It's been a fun time watching her turn into a little girl from a baby.

50 weeks

Eliza has this past week been sleeping in, till 8 or even 9! Usually she wakes at 7.
She naps so well and will put her fingers in her mouth when she's tired. The above picture was taken before her nap.
Eliza has said: hi, dada, mama, doh (for dog) and often goes "oooohh"
She wore her first bow the other day, with the little amount of hair she has.
She fits into my old overalls, which was fun because Avery wore them too.

Eliza got to swim for the first time at a friend's house.
She loved it, and was so darling in her suit.

Eliza's hair is starting to show that it wants to be curly. Her little ear whispies are precious.
She stands most of the time, hands free these days.
She has yet to take any steps, but walks with her walker-toy all the time.

Only two more weeks and she'll be ONE.

Finally played catch up.

49 weeks

Eliza has calmed down during her "yelling" dinner time episodes, but when we're all in the car, she now yells. Just trying to talk, we think.
She snuggles! And she knows just when mom can use some snuggles.
She hands me toys all day. She'll also hand me a toy when I say, "share?"
She's wearing a 6 month onesie here. Tiny peanut.

48 weeks

Eliza has started to point at familiar things.
The picture on the bottom left is the face she makes when she sees a dog.
We think she likes them, with some reservations.
If we say, "Where's the dog?" she goes, "duh, duh" and points at the door.
She's a super messy eater. She'll chew anything, and get the taste of it, then she's spit it out. Except eggs.

47 weeks

Eliza (and Avery) started going to the market this week, and we always leave with strawberries.

46 weeks

Eliza met her cousin Savannah in week 46.
Continued to pull up on everything, with the occasional standing.
Is calm most of the day, but likes to yell during mealtime.

42, 43, 44, 45

Eliza is growing up so fast. She's saying "da da" and what I think is "nom, nom" when she's hungry. She does the sign for "more" exactly the way Avery did. Not the was it's technically suppose to be. She does really well at the park, climbing up and swinging with her sister.

She had an ear infection last week, her first "sick" visit at the doctors. She's still a tiny peanut, 20lbs and 30 inches. She eats just about everything we eat for supper. She takes three bottles throughout the day, and so far is not the biggest fan of a sippy cup. We started putting shoes on her so she could feel them when she walks along things like at the park. I thought she'd be more interested in walking, but she'll probably walk around the time when Avery did.

Eliza, we love her dearly, but she's a handful at times. She cries a bit in the morning before her first nap, probably because I'm busy doing things around the house. She just loves to be held, and that's more than okay, she's a baby. But I guess I'm so used to Avery being really independent from the beginning. It feels like her first birthday is right around the corner!

You are the cutest little thing girly!

39, 40, 41

I almost threw the towel in with this photo project, but i'm like 11 weeks away from the good old 52, so I thought I'd make an effort to finish. Eliza is the worst laying down model. She won't have anything to do with it. It takes work to get these snapped.

But let's talk about the peanut, also known as Eliza Page.

She does some pretty adorable things. Laughs when everyone is laughing, claps when she likes her food, smiles a lot, relatively happy, sweet little love. She does, however, have some spice to her. In the morning, you (mom) better be ready when she's awake. I'll hear her yapping and I'll usually wait too long to go in there, so she'll start crying. Then Avery will wake up and say, "hi peanut, you sleep good? i go potty peanut." Then Eliza looses it. Lovely girl; just can't be alone. I think I should just get up earlier. <moral of the story>

Eliza has loud morning sometimes. LOUD. And it's nothing more than a monotone "aahhhhh!" on repeat. Avery joins in with the fun, and mom drinks more coffee. Then some mornings, a stack of books and some cheerios and she'll be content till her morning nap. Ken will usually get a text around 8:30, "Having a LOUD morning, like LOOOUD." He knows what I'm talking about.

The purpose of these anecdotes about Eliza's first 365 days are for me really, but something about a public place encourages me to record more frequently. I have the most detailed journal of Avery's first ... 3 months. Thankfully I made a huge mental note about when she first walked, but her other milestones are fussy. #firsttimemomfail #hashtagsdon'tworkonblogs

Here are the last 3 weeks, taken not 3 weeks apart. #secondtimemomfail.

I'm hit or miss with the lighting on these pictures. I take them at the same time, mid afternoon and they look so different! Any suggestions?

We're getting ready for the greatest day... Dr. Seuss' birthday! Eliza was too busy reading, so in proper tribute to the man, she posed this way. How appropriate, Eliza!

In other news, Eliza is pulling up on whatever she can and making small attempts at walking. She loves to crawl over to the shoes, just like Avery did. She has started taking an interest in books, like turning pages and pointing to different objects on the page.

36 weeks

I was in Memphis when this day happened, so the picture happened later. It was the first night she had been away from me, make that 5 nights! Yikes! She probably did A LOT better than I did!

I did manage to take these pictures before I left... oh man, she's so much fun.

2.25.2013

we're still doing this... 34 & 35 weeks

So, these are accurate pictures even though I'm currently a week behind and I'm just posting them. Eliza will be 37 weeks this coming up Wednesday. (who cares... ) Blogging has taken a back seat to Mardi Gras and my new job.

I know my fans (hi mom and emily rhodes) are wondering what happened!!

Did you know that you can click on the eliza page tab and see every week in a nice long list? you can look at it every night before you go to bed not that I do that or anything, every night

So basically Eliza...
  • crawls EVERY WHERE
  • pulls up on EVERYTHING
  • eats ANYTHING
  • smiles for EVERYONE
  • laughs for NO ONE
  • and LOVES getting her nose cleaned by mom. nope, actually hates it.
  • aaaaaaannnd... she WAVES.
  • oh, she was IN a mardi gras parade. hereby declared coolest baby.

Getting real hard to get her to lay still for anything these days. Like, Eliza, this is a photo shoot. Work with me! Don't even get my started with changing her diaper. Giiiiirrrl....

The one with the hearts, a valentines day special, I had an assistant, her daddy. Eliza won't take her eyes off him. She's making her move to winning over his heart. Poor guy has three ladies who are love him so dearly. And if we count "the ladies" this guy never run out of females who love him, need him, and just want to be held by him. MAN of the house.

So, I'm beginning to think I do better with pointless rambles with a few pictures here and there of the kids. So that's what's gonna happen here. Weekly pictures might just be found in the eliza page tab which I know you already made your homepage by now

(why haven't you...??)

Eliza is a full on crawler now! She wants to get into everything, especially her sister's toys. We're trying to get her to pull food up to her mouth to eat but so far we end up with a lot of food on the floor. Avery helps out though. She's starting to pull up and we predict she'll walk sooner than Avery did, probably because she's trying to either keep up or get away!

Thirty-third Week Highlights:
  • First Mardi Gras parade, even though the big ones are coming up this week.
  • will NOT lay on her back for her weekly pic!

They are so in love with each other. They have to be near each other all the time.

Meal time gets a little messy, but full of smiles!

First parade, and she did great snuggled with mom.

And this started. She will be walking soon we think. It's crazy when babies start to do this. She has hit her head so many times because she'll get up, but won't know how to gently let her set down.

I got Eliza dressed from her bath, went back to the tub to wash Avery's hair, and look who was in the hallway when we came out. Just looking for her sister, can't be apart for 2 minutes.

Thirty-second Week Highlights:

  • will sit up from being in the crawl position
  • this sounds silly but she's learning to fall over from sitting up and then bump her head, but she doesn't cry anymore. weird?
  • made mom feel extra special on her birthday

 Love my ladies

We have a crawler on our hands! She will follow Avery around the house, it's so adorable. On that note, she is obsessed with Avery. She will cry the instant Avery leaves her sight. Avery will go, "I right here Eliza!" and then Eliza will squeal with delight! We're trying a more baby led food eating approach and that seems to be going well. Last night we had beans with dinner and I just fed her from my plate and she enjoyed it. I'll still give her the purees I made cause I made a lot, but I want to start letting her work on what she sees us eat. Hopefully that will help her like more foods. Anyway, peanut is still our peanut. 7 month appointment went well and I can't believe she's that old already! Time flies.

Thirty-first Week Highlights:
  • officially crawling!!
  • 7 month check up- 17 lbs 15 oz :: 27 1/2 inches
  • really cute
